The new rooms in COMO acquired their title from the Cape Arid watercolour and ink paintings on its partitions, developed by Alex and Phillippa Nikulinsky.
The four new teas contain Hill Springs, Thomas River, Tagon Bay, and Seal Creek – all named right after iconic sections in Cape Arid Countrywide Park, areas that motivated Nikulinsky’s artwork. The teas have been formulated by learn blender David Levi of Perth’s Teassential, their flavours ranging from sencha, river mint, finger lime, and world amaranth to strawberry gum.
David Price tag, Esperance Distillery Co-Head Distiller, said that the Horizon Gin “is Cape Arid in a bottle!”
“My son and I embarked on an expedition to Cape Arid to forage wild botanicals in session with the classic house owners. Our mission was to generate a spirit that unlocks the region’s flavour.”
Their target was to obtain botanicals distinctive to Cape Arid and create a gin bouquet that depicted every single primary flavour – quintessential to Nikulinsky’s artwork. Their result was a beautifully complicated, hand-crafted gin with a tea tree, floral boronia crescendo, and minty lemon zest.
