Friendship cafe reopens for families living with dementia

A friendship cafe which supports people today with dementia and their carers is reopening.

A warm welcome awaits everybody who returns to Knutsford Methodist Church group corridor on Princess Road from 10am to 12 midday on Friday.

Game titles, crafts and new music supply people the likelihood to take it easy, guidance each and every other and make new pals.

Volunteer Paula Lambe, who set up the cafe in 2017, said: “It will be superb to open the doors after much more on a Friday early morning and meet alongside one another again.

“We would like arrive at out to other folks who could like to be part of us every single week.

“Many with dementia and carers supporting them have felt isolated for the duration of the hard lockdown period of time. We would like to extend them a heat hand of friendship. ”

For the duration of the pandemic, buddying, a What’s App team and little gifts helped volunteers keep in touch with individuals who skipped the café.

The cafe will be open up on Friday, September 17 and will resume weekly sessions from Friday, October 1.

Many residents from Knutsford, Mobberley, Chelford and surrounding spots have appreciated the warm and pleasant ambiance more than current a long time.
