A VILLAGE pub saved from closure has been named the best in the north west.

The Church Inn, Mobberley, has been crowned one particular of 15 regional winners in the once-a-year Nationwide Pub and Bar Awards for the next time.

The 18th century Quality II listed inn received the nationwide award in 2019 and is the only pub in Cheshire featured in the Michelin Tutorial for Wonderful Britain and Eire 2021.
